The Purpose of this website is to provide residents with access to information about our community, as well as contact information for our Property Owners' Association (POA) Board of Directors.
Windward is an exclusive residential gated community of 147 property owners that’s located within the Bluewater Bay Resort. Our community is known for its beautiful trees and custom-built homes tucked away in a secluded section of Bluewater. Windward was established in early 1985, and while many of the original homes have undergone renovation, we do have a few new homes that were recently built. We’re just a short ride across the Mid-Bay bridge to Destin with beautiful white sand beaches, excellent shopping and a multitude of dining experiences.
In addition to our own private beach area and dock, Windward has access to all of Bluewater Bay’s amenities that include a golf course, an outstanding tennis complex, 3 swimming pools, miles of hiking and biking trails, playground areas and a full-service marina with 120 boat slips in addition to a dry storage facility. The marina also hosts a ship store as well as a charming restaurant/bar facility that looks out over the water.
Windward is in the Okaloosa County School District. Our schools consistently rate among the top school districts in Florida. Students in our community will likely go to Bluewater Bay Elementary and can attend either Ruckel or Destin Middle School, and Niceville Senior High School.
